Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about how TerraScope supports environmental consulting firms — what we produce, how we fit alongside your EP, and how to get started.

How does working with TerraScope work?

We handle the production-heavy portions of a Phase I ESA or SWPPP — records research, site reconnaissance support, data organization, and draft reporting — and hand your firm an organized, near-final deliverable built to your templates. Your Environmental Professional performs the final review, determinations, and sign-off.

Do you sign or certify the reports?

No. We don’t sign reports or make final REC / CREC / HREC determinations. Those — along with report approval, client-facing issuance, and professional sign-off — stay with your firm’s Environmental Professional. We’re a production partner, not a replacement for your EP.

Will you compete for our clients?

No. We work behind the scenes as a support partner and never pursue your client relationships. The model is non-competitive by design.

What’s your turnaround?

We confirm a target timeline with you up front for each assignment, based on scope and records availability. Standard turnaround excludes delays outside our control — third-party records, municipal response times, archive retrieval, and client-provided information.

Can you work in our templates and file standards?

Yes. We follow your preferred templates, naming conventions, file organization, and review procedures, and refine our deliverables to your standards over time.

What standards do you follow?

Phase I ESA production follows ASTM E1527-21. SWPPP work follows the applicable construction or industrial stormwater permit requirements for the site.

How does a pilot work?

We typically start with one to three projects so your team can evaluate our quality, turnaround, and responsiveness with minimal risk. If it’s a fit, we can move to per-project or ongoing overflow support.

Is our information kept confidential?

Yes. We operate as a behind-the-scenes production partner and keep your projects and client information confidential.
